Product / Material Compliance Testing

We have a purpose built test facility to study the performance of building materials. Wall or roof products / materials are fitted with sensors to measure all elements of the assembly performance including;

• Temperature

• Relative humidity

• Moisture content

• Solar radiation

• Dew / condensation

• Rain impact directly to wall

The interior is fully climate controlled to specified conditions and the external environment is measured with an on site weather station.

The most reliable method of determining expected performance of a building material is field testing with all parameters of performance measured over a specific period ideally, involving 4 seasons.

Performance testing on our test facility can be needed for many reasons.

(a) Climate change.
(b) Satisfying new Building Code performance standards.
(c) Performance testing for new / expanded product use.
(d) Performance testing for new systems / methodology.
(e) Additional research needed to fully support product literature and warranty.
(f) Independent third party appraisal is insufficiently robust.
(g) Defending a claim of defective performance.
(h) Making a claim of defective performance.
